“I love using local makers to bring special pieces to life, like vanities and built-ins.”
Emily
A family in Kenwood, OH was adding a new primary bath to their 100-year-old home—a rare opportunity to design a spa-like retreat from scratch.
They wanted the space to blend their love of mid-century modern design with the home's historic character, creating a bathroom that felt both timeless and personal. We designed an organic modern primary bath that honors the home's roots while introducing clean lines and natural materials.

The custom walnut vanity became our centerpiece—a piece I designed to include two sinks and a built-in seating area that functions as both a vanity spot and a place to simply sit and relax.
Local craftsman Stephen Kirby of Kirby Furniture brought it to life with beautiful handmade details. We optimized the original layout to maximize storage—both featured and hidden—so every corner feels intentional and nothing goes to waste.

This bathroom does exactly what the family hoped—it provides a calm, functional retreat that feels custom-designed for their daily routine while celebrating the beauty of natural materials.
